She has an HBSc in nursing, a BA in psychology, and an MSc in epidemiology and biostatistics from Western University. Dr. Coleman worked as an epidemiologist in public health for 10 years before graduating with her PhD. Since then she has been an independent researcher and manager of the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Research Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital. She has also been an Assistant Professor in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health since 2010. Dr. Coleman\u2019s areas of interest and research include vaccines and respiratory diseases including influenza and COVID as well as antimicrobial resistance, both antiviral and antibiotic. Her goal is to reduce the transmission of infectious diseases and thereby reduce of the burden of illness.\r\n\t\t\t\t<p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<br />\r\n\t\t\t\t\tDr. Coleman is currently researching COVID-19 in hospital workers and education workers. The objective of these studies is to determine what factors put our essential workers at risk for infection.
