Identifying Mpox Contamination in the Environment (IPOC)

What is the purpose of this study?

This study aims to find out how often surfaces and air in homes have the mpox virus for people with mpox. We also want to know why some surfaces have the virus and some don’t. Additionally, we want to see which cleaning methods work best to remove the virus.

Who is eligible to participate?

People 18 years and older with confirmed mpox infection can participate. You will be compensated for taking part.

What data is collected?

We will ask for some information about you, your health, and your mpox infection. We will visit your home four times in a month to collect nose and skin swabs and swabs from surfaces in your home.
