Join a research study about COVID-19 in Canadian hospital workers

What is being studied?

  • The rate of COVID-19 infection
  • Risk factors for infection
  • Antibody levels over time
  • Uptake of vaccines against COVID-19
  • Psychological impact of working during a pandemic

What is required?

  • Questionnaires:
    • When you join
    • every 2nd week
    • when you are tested for COVID-19 --or-- have symptoms that might be COVID
    • when you are vaccinated against COVID
  • Dried blood spot samples:
    • when you join
    • 30 days after you are vaccinated --or-- test positive for COVID-19
    • about every 180 days after that

Who can participate?
Staff working at IWK Health or Nova Scotia Health

  • Who are 18-75 years of age
  • Who work anywhere in either hospital for more than 20 hours per week OR - is a physician, nurse practitioner, or midwife with privileges or private practice who works at least 8 hours per week caring for patients
  • Who have access to a computer or phone with internet access, and
  • Who plan to be available at least for the next 3 months


Participation is voluntary

Participants will be provided with a small token of appreciation for taking part in the study

People are welcome to join whether or not they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 (and whether or not they have already tested positive)
